Today after grabbing lunch in the city, I decided to make a quick stop in Chinatown for dessert at T-Swirl Crepes on Race and 10th Street.
T-Swirl Crepes use 100% gluten free rice flour batter which goes great for both sweet and savory crepes. The menu includes a lot of interesting options for sweet and savory crepes. Some sweet options included Lychee Romantic, Blueberry NY Cheesecake and Matcha Azuki Bean. Some savory crepe options on the menu included Thai Chicken, Chicken Teriyaki, and Shrimp Avocado. You can view their entire menu here.
The outside of the store had wax crepes on display in cases, which is common to do in restaurants in Japan. The inside was spacious, clean, and made out of wood. There was a large room in the back for larger groups.
I personally chose to go the sweet route and ordered the Chocolate Nut Party and added strawberries ($8.50). The Chocolate Nut Party come with Almonds, Pistachio, Chocolate Gelato, Chocolate Truffles, Chocolate Sauce, Whipped Yogurt, Chocolate Custard Cream, Chocolate Pearls, and Chocolate Pocky Sticks. This was definitely a delicious combination, however the only part I didn’t totally love was the whipped yogurt in the crepe. Other than that, it was definitely a solid choice.
There were two staff members and both were very nice, checking to make sure I didn’t have any allergies before making the crepe, and making sure I thought that everything was okay. They also made sure to answer any questions I had about the menu and were very welcoming to every customer that entered the store. The crepe came out in under three minutes, and it was definitely a great experience.
Overall, I really enjoyed T-Swirl Crepes, the attentiveness of the staff, the space, and especially the uniqueness and variety of flavors and toppings.
